The time, experience and coins a batch of bars takes

Bars an hour come from trips. A trip of plain ore is about 24 game ticks, a trip of coal alone 27 and a trip that also collects bars 29, with a little taken off for lag and drinking potions. The quick pace is the upper figure players report and the relaxed pace 85% of it. Every figure assumes ice gloves or smiths gloves (i) and a Blast Furnace world, where the dwarves cost 72,000 coins an hour. Below 60 Smithing the foreman adds 2,500 coins every ten minutes. Stamina potions are counted at nine four-dose potions an hour. Ore and coal are bought at the instant-buy price and bars sold at the instant-sell price less the 2% tax. Figures checked against the OSRS Wiki on 21 September 2026.

Blast Furnace bars, profit and experience an hour

The Blast Furnace in Keldagrim smelts every bar with half the usual coal: one for steel, two for mithril, three for adamantite and four for runite. A coal bag nearly doubles the bars an hour for anything that needs coal, and gold with goldsmith gauntlets is the fastest Smithing experience there.

Runite and gold 85 4,400 to 5,200 240,460 to 284,180

Gold here is smelted with goldsmith gauntlets, which pay 56.2 experience a bar in place of 22.5. They are carried and swapped for ice gloves, so a trip is 27 gold ore. A Smithing cape does the same from the cape slot and leaves room for 28.

Gold with mithril, adamantite or runite

A hybrid carries 26 ore and a full coal bag on every trip. Most trips are gold, and every second trip is mithril, every third adamantite or every fourth runite, so the coal for the dearer bar arrives with the gold. It needs the coal bag, and it earns back part of what gold costs while keeping most of its experience.

What the furnace costs

On a Blast Furnace world the coffer pays the dwarves 72,000 coins an hour, taken a tick at a time while you are in the room. Below 60 Smithing the foreman also wants 2,500 coins every ten minutes, or 1,250 with a ring of charos (a). Ore and bars are heavy, so most players drink about 9 four-dose stamina potions an hour.

Blast Furnace questions

Which bar makes the most money? It moves with ore prices. The side by side table prices every bar right now, and picking the most coins an hour plans your goal that way.
