Farming is planned in days, not hours. A tree grows in real time — from three hours for an acorn to four days for a redwood — and you can only run the patches once or twice a day, so the rate here is experience a day and the time is the number of days of runs. Hardwoods take longer than a day to grow, which is why their figure is below one run a day. One action is one patch. Each row says how many patches a run covers and what a full run is worth, so a magic tree run across all seven patches is worth seven times the experience shown. The cost is the seed at the instant-buy price; the protection payment is named in each row. Nothing is sold back — what a tree yields is logs or fruit, and this page plans the experience.
