How lucky you have been

Points come from rooms, MVPs and deaths. Each player earns 3 points a room, the team shares 14 for the most damage on each boss, and a death costs 4. A deathless raid has a 1 in 9.1 chance of a purple at any team size, 1 in 7.7 in Hard Mode, and fewer points lower it. Loot is priced at what it sells for right now, after the 2% tax. A purple replaces the common loot for the player who gets it, and a raid's worth counts that. Lil' Zik, the kits, the dust and clue scrolls cannot be sold, so they are counted and never priced. Figures checked against the OSRS Wiki on 19 October 2026.

How the purple chance works

Every player earns 3 points for each of the six rooms they fight in. The team also shares 14 MVP points, given for the most damage on each boss: 2 each for the Maiden, Bloat and Xarpus, 1 each for the Nylocas and Sotetseg, and 2 for each of Verzik's three phases. A death takes 4 points away. A team of four with no deaths has 86 points, the most it can score.

At the end the game rolls once for the whole team: 1 in 9.1 when the team has every point it could, whatever its size, and less in step with the points lost. Hard Mode raises it to 1 in 7.7. The purple then goes to one player drawn by points, so the MVP is likeliest to get it, and a player's chance is the rate times their own points over the team's most. Entry Mode gives no purples.

Which unique you get

The avernic defender hilt is 8 in 19 in Normal Mode and 7 in 18 in Hard Mode; everything else is 2, and the scythe 1. A scythe is 1 purple in 19, 1 deathless raid in 172.9 for the whole team.

What the common loot is

A player without the purple gets three rolls of 29 items, and the same item can come twice. A vial of blood is twice as likely as anything else. How much you get falls with the team's points, so a death costs every player some loot, and it is a fifth of normal in Entry Mode, 15% more in Hard Mode and 30% more in Hard Mode finished inside the target time.

Hard Mode

Hard Mode has a better purple chance, a lighter hilt and more common loot. Finished inside the target time for the team size, it also rolls for a holy ornament kit (1 in 100), a sanguine ornament kit (1 in 150) and sanguine dust (1 in 275).

ToB questions

Does a bigger team lower the chance? Not the team's: a deathless raid is 1 in 9.1 at any size. Your own share is smaller in a bigger team, and a raid is quicker.

How much does a death cost? 4 points from the team, and from you if it was yours. In a team of four that is about 4.7% of the purple chance, and the common loot falls with it. The deaths table shows it.

What about the other raids? The CoX calculator and the ToA calculator do the same for the Chambers of Xeric and the Tombs of Amascut.
