A master picks a task by weight. Each task you can be given has a weight, and its chance is its weight over the total of every task you can be given; a blocked task leaves the total, a skipped one stays in it and costs points to replace. A task's experience is its average amount times the Slayer experience of the monster named beside it, so a task done on something else gives a different figure. Hours use the experience an hour the wiki prints for Duradel's tasks; every other task takes 47,500 an hour, the middle of the 20,000 to 75,000 the wiki gives for Slayer, and figures that lean on it are marked ~. A boss task counts the 5,000 bonus and about 600 a kill. The goal walks level by level, so tasks join as your level opens them. Task tables checked against the OSRS Wiki on 24 September 2026.
How Slayer points add up
Every master but Turael, Aya, Spria and Mortimer pays points for a finished task, and a streak pays more on every tenth task and more again on the fiftieth, hundredth, 250th and 1,000th. Over a long streak that averages out at 1.775 times the base points a task.
| Task in the streak | Points | In 1,000 tasks |
|---|---|---|
| Any other task | 1× | 900 |
| Every 10th | 5× | 80 |
| Every 50th | 15× | 8 |
| Every 100th | 25× | 8 |
| Every 250th | 35× | 3 |
| Every 1,000th | 50× | 1 |
Slayer questions
Should I block or skip? A block takes a task off that master's list for good and costs points once; a skip costs points every time the task comes up. Block what comes up often and pays badly, skip the rest. The block table above ranks your tasks by what blocking each one adds to your experience an hour.
Why does a task I can do show 0%? A task needs its Slayer level, its combat level and sometimes a quest or an unlock. The reason is in its row. Reaching 99 Slayer and showing the cape lets a master ignore combat levels.
How do I work out my combat level? The combat level calculator does it from your skills.
